With work on European Commission initiatives such as the Gigabit Infrastructure Act and the Digital Decade Targets already underway, stakeholders and policymakers are looking to the future to determine how best to support and accelerate action in this field.

Debates over many of the details remain, however, including how best to foster innovation in the sector, to expand the infrastructure underpinning these developments and to ensure that their benefits have a whole-of-society impact.
